Rodolfo Montero named CEO of Holcim Mexico

World Cement,

Effective 1 March 2015, Rodolfo Montero has taken up the role of CEO of Holcim Mexico following the retirement of Eduardo Kretschmer.

Montero joined the Holcim Group in 1990 and has held various management positions throughout the group, including in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Sri Lanka and Panama. His most recent post was CEO of Holcim Ecuador.

Kretschmer leaves the group after 34 years. During this time he was CEO of Holcim Colombia, Chile and Argentina. He was appointed as CEO of Holcim’s Mexican operations in 2008. Under his leadership, Holcim inaugurated its seventh cement plant in Mexico – the Hermosillo plant – bringing its total installed capacity in the country to 12.6 million t. Kretschmer also oversaw a rebranding campaign in 2013, in which Holcim Apasco became Holcim Mexico. This was part of the group’s strategy to unify its global brand and strengthen its presence on the Mexican market.
