World Cement,

Teresa Morales, Bolivian Development and Economy Minister, has confirmed that a cement plant will be constructed in Potosi, according to local news sources. However, work on the plant cannot go ahead until sufficient resources have been found to invest in a gas duct to supply energy to the cement plant. An investment of approximately US$214 million is required for the gas line, while the plant itself is estimated to cost US$187 million.

The Bolivian government is investing in infrastructure projects in Potosi, including housing, metallurgy and the construction of an international airport in Uyuni.
