Amrize was recognised at the Slag Cement Association’s (SCA) annual awards programme, receiving top honours in the Lower Carbon Concrete category for two projects that demonstrate innovative mix design and material optimisation.

Amrize was awarded for the AI-optimised concrete collaboration with Meta for their Data Center in Rosemount, Minnesota, and for its ECOtect™ application for the Procter & Gamble Principio Project in Andover, Massachusetts. The awards ceremony took place on April 1 at the American Concrete Institute Convention in Chicago.

"The Meta AI-Designed Mix for the Rosemount Data Center and Principio are standout examples of how the concrete industry is pushing the boundaries of construction," said Nick Brimley, Director of Marketing and Membership for the Slag Cement Association. "Amrize has shown the importance of innovation in effectively lowering the carbon footprint of the built environment and SCA was proud to honor these winning projects.”

“We are incredibly proud of these awards recognising our high-performance and innovative building solutions,” said Jaime Hill, President, Amrize Building Materials. “Our advanced materials are helping shape the future of construction – supporting American jobs and enabling our customers to build with confidence.”

The award-winning projects illustrate how Amrize is applying advanced materials engineering to deliver high performance, with more efficiency:

AI-optimised mix for the Meta Data Centre (Rosemount, MN)

In collaboration with Meta and the University of Illinois, Amrize developed a first-of-its-kind, AI-optimised concrete mix tailored to the demands of large-scale data centre construction. The mix design was engineered to deliver high strength, maintain set-time and reduce carbon load – meeting Meta’s stringent performance, speed and sustainability targets. The solution combined Amrize’s materials engineering expertise with Meta’s open-source AI models.

Procter & Gamble Principio Project (Andover, MA)

At Procter & Gamble’s Gillette manufacturing facility in Andover, Amrize supported a major modernisation project requiring high-performance concrete with reduced environmental impact. Amrize’s ECOtect lower-carbon concrete mix delivered high strength and optimised set times. It also contributed to improved long-term durability, supporting the facility’s enhanced sustainability, efficiency, and operational performance.
