Hema, a leading manufacturing company, has utilised Siemens digitalisation tools to capture production data to help improve predictive plant maintenance.

Hema is a world leading manufacturer of precision systems and components for different sectors of industry based in Tekidrag, Turkey. According to Siemens MediaService Industires Blog, August 2018, "Hema relies on extensive digitalisation solutions from the Siemens Sinumerik portfolio...to optimise the maintenance of its production facilities and maximise their productivity".

"By using analytics tools to monitor the condition of its plants, Hema is able to implement precise maintenance activities and so allow any wear to machine components to be noticed and rectified in good time. This not only saves the company costs and time spent on unnecessary maintenance, it also provides an accurate overview of the machine’s condition at all times. Overall, this should enable a 9% increase in plant productivity."

Hema will use the Siemens digitalisation tools to capture production data to help improve predictive plant maintenance "which will enable parts to be exchanged at just the right moment before they actually exceed their service life and become faulty. This also allows the optimum balance  to be achieved between availability, capacity utilisation, and quality with OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)."
