Indian cement producer, JSW Cement, part of infrastructure conglomerate, JSE Group, plans to increase its cement-making capacity at its Bellary cement plant in Karnataka, southern India.
“We are increasing the cement manufacturing capacity from currant 1.0 million tpy to 3.4 million tpy,” the company said in a statement. “The additional capacity will help JSW Cement to strengthen its distribution network in high-demand potential areas throughout south India.”
The company also said it increase capacity at its Vijaynaga cement grinding plant, also in Karnataka. The plant produces both Portland slag cement and ground granulated blast furnace slag cement for the southern Indian market. Slag is supplied from the adjacent JSW Steel works.
"JSW Cement today is one of the fastest growing cement companies in India,” said JSW Cement Director & CEO, Anil Kumar Pillai.
“We have a distribution network of 1800 dealers and approximately 5000 sub dealers across the Southern Market, Maharashta Goa and Orissa. This new additional facility will help us to further increase our network in the Southern Markets and help us serve our customers better”
