Ambuja Cement secures limestone resource

Indian cement producer, Ambuja Cement, part of LafargeHolcim, has secured a limestone block at Nandgaon Ekodi in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, India. The block was secured via e-auction tender to the state government of Maharashtra.

Ambuja operates an integrated cement plant in Chandrapur, one five integrated plants the company runs in India. It also operates a number of grinding units across India for a total production capacity of 29.65 million tpy.

The limestone block secured by the company contains an estimated limestone resource of 42 million t. It was secured for a final bid price of 125.05% of value of mineral dispatched, according to a company statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
