CEMCOR, formerly Lafarge Ireland, have announced the completion of their £6 million sustainability upgrade to their Cookstown plant in Northern Ireland.
The upgrade includes a new bag filter that has the capacity to detect and locate damaged bags and reseal them. This will help to reduce emissions and improve efficiency.
CEMCOR managing director, David Millar, said that the company is "delighted" with the progress it has made on sustainability since the acquisition from Holcim last year, adding that the company is "committed to being a leader in sustainability" and that it will continue to invest in new technologies to reduce its environmental impact.
