As of 11 June 2019, Christoph Beumelburg has assumed the position of Director of Group Communication and Investor Relations at HeidelbergCement. In this role, he reports to Dr Bernd Scheifele, Chairman of the Managing Board of HeidelbergCement AG. The previous head of the function, Andreas Schaller, has left the organisation at his own request, to pursue his career outside of HeidelbergCement.
Beumelburg has many years of experience in the field of communication and investor relations. He stated his career at the chemical company BASF in 1995. Since then, he has held different management positions both domestically and abroad, including Director of Investor Relations USA. In 2010, Beumelburg moved to the automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler, where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Communications, Marketing, and Investor Relations. He holds an Industrial Engineering Degree from the University of Kaiserslautern.
