Lafarge Holcim Côte d’Ivoire has officially announced the opening of it’s sixth mill, bringing its official capacity to 2.5 million tpy. Jean Claude Brou, Minister of Industry and Mines, Marouane Tarafa, Chairman of the Board of Directors at LafargeHolcim Maroc Afrique, and Xavier Saint-Martin-Tillet, Director General of LafargeHolcim Côte d’Ivoire, attended the commissioning ceremony.
With 2.5 million tpy, LafargeHolcim is now the largest cement producer within the Ivory Coast, covering over a half of the need at an estimated 4 million t.
The commencement of the sixth mill was also an opportunity to present the new commercial offers of LafargeHolcim Côte d’Ivoire.
These include the installation of a new palletiser in Côte d’Ivoire. The system, which has a permanent supply of cement pallattes, will significantly improve truck-loading rates to reduce customer-waiting time.
A second automatic palletiser is also being built. It will be the first automatic palletiser in West Africa.
