CTEIC to supply coal transportation project

CNBM subsidiary, CTEIC, is to supply turnkey services for the Phase IV coal transportation project at the HeidelbergCement’s Shymkent cement plant, southern Kazakhstan.

The contract was announced last month and represents the first project win for CTEIC since HeidelbergCement took over Italcementi, including the Shymkent plant, last year.

The Shymkent cement plant has a capacity of 1.3 million tpy and is one of the largest cement plant operating in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, according to the company website.

In recent years, the plant has been modernised with the construction a new dry production line at a cost of US$80 million. The modernisation project was supported by the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development.
