Limak Holding lays foundations for Mozambique plant

Turkish company Limak Holding has laid the foundations for a 2 million tpy cement plant in Maputo, Mozambique. The plant has an initial investment of US$40 million and is scheduled to enter production in 1Q16. In time, the company says, the investment may increase to US$150 million as the company ramps up production to meet demand.

Limak Holding is also investing US$55 million in a new cement grinding and packaging plant in Ivory Coast, also scheduled to be brought into operation in 2016. The new plant will be located in the country’s biggest city, Abidjan, and will have the capacity to grind 1 million tpy of cement.
