The British Safety Council will be holding a morning seminar in Cardiff on 20 May on the topic ‘Sharing good practice’. The seminar will focus on sharing good practice in health and safety management, with the speakers addressing current and pertinent topics of safety culture and the role of leadership, how to tackle occupational health, and providing an update and insight into the latest developments in health and safety enforcement and prosecutions in England and Wales.

Joscelyne Shaw, acting Director of Policy and Communications at the British Safety Council, who will be chairing the morning’s event, said: “Our seminars are a great way to hear what others are doing, to be inspired as well as find the support and insight that networking and conversing with peers can offer.

“Knowing that occupational health is an issue for all businesses regardless of size, we are delighted that Susan Wing, Principal Public Health Practitioner at Healthy Working Wales, will be presenting, outlining key features of a health and wellbeing strategy, as well as articulating what support is available to businesses in Wales.

“If you’ve heard about safety culture, but don’t know where to start or if you are looking to ‘borrow’ some new ideas, you should come away with plenty after hearing from either Paul Williams, Head of Safety at First Great Western, who will speak about their ‘Leading Safety 24/7’ initiative; or from Sarah Cudmore, a work psychologist, who will examine how you can assess, improve and measure the success of your safety culture.”

You can discuss and follow the event online using the Twitter hashtag: #HSGoodPractice.
