Eurocement Group and Uztroymaterialy JSC have agreed to establish a new industrial cluster focused on building materials on the site of Eurocement’s Akhangarancement cement plant. The agreement provides for an investment of US$200 million and was signed by Eurocement Group President, Mikhail Skorokhad, and Uztroymaterialy Chairman, Botir Zaripov.
The new industrial cluster will be based around the construction of a new 3 million tpy cement plant at Akhangarancement. This will be bring total capacity of the plant to 5 million tpy – more than a third of the projected consumtion of cement in Uzbekistan by 2020.
The site also houses a production line for refractory bricks used in the cement and metallurgical industries, which launched in 2017. In 2019, production of mineral wool products and high-quality concrete and reinforced concrete products will begin.
