Cement consumption dropped further in Spain in February 2013, falling 25.1% y/y from 1.15 million t to 863 950 t. Accumulated consumption came in at almost 1.76 million t, 23.3% less than the same period last year. Production levels in the country also declined. In February 2013, 988 296 t of cement was produced, down 23.7% compared to the 1.29 million t recorded in February 2012. Accumulated production levels decreased by 27.3% y/y to 1.91 million t.
In Andalucía, cement consumption levels reached 134 336 t, 43 000 t or 24% less than in February 2012. Accumulated consumption in January – February 2013 dropped 26.6% to 271 665 t.
