Windmöller & Hölscher has increased its holding in BSW

World Cement,

Lengerich/Westfalia-based Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H) has increased its holding in BSW Machinery (Bag Solutions Worldwide).

W&H has been the majority shareholder in BSW since 2005, and on 1 August 2014 it increased its stake in the firm by acquiring the shares previously owned by company founders Thomas Breitenberger, Peter Schmalholz and Günter Wais. With this step, W&H will build an even stronger presence in the poly-woven packaging segment.

BSW is based in Vienna, Austria, and Prostejov, Czech Republic. It specialises in solutions for the production of stretched PP-woven fabrics and woven sacks. The greater share in BSW will enable W&H to strengthen its presence in the poly-woven segment and enable BSW to gain a larger international foothold.

BSW Vienna and W&H Lengerich have a long history of collaboration and have benefitted from their mutual experience. Both companies will work together with a continued focus on the quality and durability of the end product, in addition to machinery efficiency.

In order to strengthen the management team, Walter Häder has been appointed as CEO of BSW Machinery. Häder has vast experience in management roles at machinery manufacturers, including CEO of Cincinnati Extrusion in Vienna (now battenfield-cincinnati Austria).

“With Walter Häder, we have won an internationally experienced industry veteran, who has led and developed successful companies. We are confident that Mr Häder will drive the BSW team to further success,” said Dr Jürgen Vutz, Chairman of Windmöller & Hölscher KG.
