Quintiq, a global leader in supply chain planning and optimisation, has been chosen by Lafarge to help enhance the company’s global supply chain. Quintiq software will be used to optimise operations across the entire company for demand and supply chain planning, while reducing production and transport costs and increasing customer satisfaction. All cement, aggregates and concrete business lines in all countries in which Lafarge operates will be able to implement this system.

Real-time collaboration between Lafarge planners will also improve the quality of the planning process and the use of a single platform for all planning applications will simplify the company’s IT system. The optimisation technology enables the solution to be used to cover all country-specific business requirements.

"We are extremely pleased that the world's largest cement manufacturer decided to ask Quintiq France to provide sales and operations planning applications," said Arjen Heeres, Quintiq COO. "Lafarge will benefit from the Quintiq platform within the entire organisation, not only for cement and aggregates, but also for concrete. All of our global offices look forward to supporting Lafarge worldwide on its journey to build better cities while becoming the most efficient manufacturer of building materials in the world."
