The new Milan venue of Fondazione Prada consists of a redevelopment of an early 20th-century distillery. The architectural elements are made of a special white concrete produced by Italcementi.
Characterised by an architectural configuration that combines seven existing buildings with three new structures, the project is the result of two coexisting conditions: preservation of the old and creation of the new.
The foundation is a multifunctional space, hosting a permanent art collection, a temporary exhibition space, a cinema, and an auditorium.
The choice of materials characterizing the project went through a continuous dialogue between the designer, the company and Italcementi.
The Rezzato cement plant in Italy is to undergo a significant revamp as part of the company’s plans to enhance efficiency and environmentally friendly practices.
