FLSmidth Wadgassen accredited for health and safety

FLSmidth Wadgassen, Germany, has been certified by the TÜV SÜD Management Service GmbH. The company was awarded the Occupational Health and Safety Management System certification for its high standards in health and safety. FLSmidth Wadgassen will reapply for the certification in 2015, when the current one expires.

FLSmidth has also announced that it is to receive a 5-year bullet loan from the European Investment Bank, to the value of €125 million. The loan will fund the company’s cement industry research and development programme in 2013 – 2016. The programme will look at reducing emissions, optimising energy efficiency and product development.

“Through its focused R&D efforts FLSmidth aims at fulfilling customers' future needs for innovative technical solutions, high reliability and availability, minimum environmental impact and the lowest possible lifecycle costs. And this loan from the European Investment Bank supports these efforts,” said Group Executive Vice President and CFO, Ben Guren.

New Russian contract for FLSmidth

In an extension to the 2011 deal to supply Kaluga Cement Plant LLC with a complete cement plant, FLSmidth has signed a contract to supply the plant with further equipment.
