CIMPOR's Alhandra Plant will now be headed by Mário Lopes, a professional with over 30 years' experience in the cement sector.
This is the oldest cement plant in the world in continuous production on the same site, which celebrated 131 years of activity this year. This plant is strategic in the company's industrial system, both because of its size and because of the role it plays in the cement supply chain at national level.
Mário Lopes began his career at CIMPOR in 1991 as a technician in the Manufacturing and Packaging Service at the Alhandra plant. During his 25 years with CIMPOR, Mario has held various positions of increasing responsibility, such as managing the Loulé and Alhandra plants, as well as CIMPOR's industrial leadership in China. Mario's career also includes relevant international experience in Group units in Brazil, Egypt, China, and Morocco, as well as management roles in cement companies in Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, and Gabon that broadened his global vision of the industry's challenges.
