CRH subsidiary in the UK, Tarmac, recently highlighted dust control management at Hillhead 2018, a three-day event showcasing quarry machinery, equipment, and services. Tarmac showcased the importance of effective dust control through correct safety measures and equipment.

Hillhead was “an opportunity to show companies around the world what best-practice dust management looks like,” said Simon Grey, Tarmac’s Director of Health & Safety. “Creating a safe environment for anyone involved with our operations is fundamental to how we manage our business.”

The Tarmac stand paid particular attention to protecting employees from exposure to short-term effects of dust inhalation, as well as reducing and eliminating dust-related health issues. The company was joined by 3M, who supply safety equipment to Tarmac, including dust masks and protective glasses.

Held at a non-operational Tarmac quarry near Buxton in Derbyshire, UK, Hillhead attracts over 17 000 visitors and 450 exhibitors. In addition to both outdoor and indoor exhibition space, the show also includes live demonstration areas.
