Jason Peel is taking on a newly created position in Siemens as head of integrated drive systems (IDS) strategy; this is part of his expanded role in the company. The newly created role reflects the increasing importance of fully integrated drive systems, which make a real contribution to performance and efficiency. The concept of integrating drive systems is also part of Siemens’ ongoing strategy for electrification, automation and digitalisation across infrastructure and industry.

“We are in a unique position, being able to offer the only true drive train solution from a single source, perfectly matching components that seamlessly integrate into the automation system,” said Jason. “My focus for the coming months is to ensure that we are responsive to our customers’ drive train needs, aligning our external and internal resources and processes, to reduce their risk, time to market and time to profit.”

Jason will continue in his role as head of sales at Mechanical Drives in Leeds, UK.

In July Siemens is hosting an IDS road show to introduce the concept and promote the benefits of IDS to UK industry. Venues and timings will be announced shortly.
