Current CFO of thyssenkrupp Materials Services Dr Klaus Keysberg is to be the business area’s CEO, with effect from 1 January 2019. It has also been announced that Ilse Henne will join the board as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

A member of the board for the business area since 2011 and CFO since 2014, Keysberg will succeed Joachim Limberg, who will enter retirement on 31 December 2018. For many years, Limberg has successfully managed the business area, shaping it with a view to the future. The company has stated that Materials Services made very good progress under his management.

Keysberg is a financial specialist and materials expert, who is highly familiar with the operating business. Before his appointment as CFO, Keysberg held the role of COO to the business area from 2011 to 2014. He has also held various management roles at operating units.

Having made a name for herself as a successful materials specialist and experienced expert in change processes, Henne has held the role of CEO of thyssenkrupp Schulte and the Western Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. Henne will continue to hold this post until a successor is found.

It has also been noted that Markus Bistram will remain as Chief Human Resources Officer on the management team.

“With these two decisions, the new board of the Materials Services business area is excellently positioned,” said Guido Kerkhoff, CEO of thyssenkrupp AG. “We can rely on a team that knows the business extremely well. Customers and employees of Materials Services will profit from this. I look forward to continuing good cooperation.”
