Highways England – the body responsible for operating, maintaining, and improving England’s road network – has awarded LafargeHolcim’s UK subsidiary, Aggregate Industries, a four-year contract to deliver pavement solutions. The total value of the contract is estimated to be over £500 million.
Under the contract, Aggregate Industries will deliver asphalt and cement bound works on Highways England's Regional Investment Programme.

The announcement follows Aggregate Industries selection as the exclusive supplier of surfacing works for England’s largest road improvement project, the A14 from Cambridge to Huntingdon. This project will require the delivery of 0.7 million t of asphalt and 0.5 million t of cement bound granular materials to create 20 miles of new, multi-lane highway.
