Tarmac’s Tunstead site has given a donation to Earl Sterndale C of E Primary School in the Upper Dove Valley to go towards educational materials, activities and school trips.
Viv Russell, Director of Lime and Powders at Tarmac in Tunstead, said: “It is important to us to work closely within the local community so we were happy to make a donation to Earl Sterndale Primary School. We support a number of charities, sports clubs and community events every year as part of giving back into the community that we serve.”
The PTA has been working hard to raise funds and has recently held a summer fayre that raised £2000.
Dan Holden, Head teacher at Earl Sterndale Primary School, said: “We were delighted to receive a donation from Tarmac at Tunstead. The donation has been added to our funds and will go towards purchasing resources for the school such as furniture and sports and educational play equipment.”
