CEMEX has joined ANDECE, the Spanish Association of the Precast Concrete Industry, in order to continue promoting and developing research and production of sustainable and innovative solutions in the world of precast concrete, as well as jointly plan strategies that favour the decarbonisation of this industry and promote its sustainability.

A year ago now, both entities began a collaboration focused on two axes. On the one hand, to advance in the optimisation of the durability and energy efficiency of materials and construction solutions and on the other, the reduction of the carbon footprint and the achievement of a circular economy in the field of precast concrete.

“With this collaboration, ANDECE and CEMEX joined forces to maintain the industry's capacity to respond to the challenges and opportunities derived from the European Green Deal. Now, with CEMEX joining the association, we are taking this commitment one step further,” said Jaime Isla, CEMEX Spain's commercial director of cement.

ANDECE and CEMEX agree on the challenges facing the concrete precasting sector, among which the greater demand for sustainability criteria in construction (circular economy, decarbonisation or energy efficiency), the digital transformation (especially the methodology BIM) and the progressive industrialisation that is modifying construction processes. Therefore, both are going to value their knowledge and experience to take advantage of and participate in the opportunities that the future offers, both for infrastructure works and for housing and buildings. Always within the framework of sustainability and CEMEX's Future in Action strategy that outlines the company's roadmap on Climate Action, today, clearly, a strategic priority for CEMEX.
