This year’s Alternative Fuel Award has been launched with a call for candidates. Endorsed by MVW Lechtenberg & Partner, the award is presented to cities, companies, and individuals that promote the idea of sustainable alternative fuel production and use.
The awards will be presented at this year’s Alternative Fuel Symposium, which will run in Duisberg, Germany, in September 2018. The winning project will receive €5000, while two runners up will receive a copy of the Alternative Fuels and Raw Material Handbook for the Cement & Lime Industry.
The winner and runners up will also have the opportunity to present their projects at the symposium.
According to the Cement Sustainability Initiative’s Getting the Numbers Right report for 2015, the use of alternative fuels among the 939 cement plants surveyed has jumped from 2% to almost 16%.
The deadline for submitting entries to the awards is 15 March. Entries should be submitted to Dirk Lechtenberg (dirk.lechtenberg@lechtenberg-partner.de) of MVW Lechtenberg and Partner. The winners will be selected by a board of expert reviews.
