Orient Cement receives Greentech Safety Silver Award 2014

Orient Cement received the prestigious Greentech Safety Silver Award 2014 in the Cement category from Greentech Foundation, New Delhi, for the company’s contribution towards best practices in Safety and Health Management.

Greentech Foundation was established in 1999 and is a non-profit organisation committed to recognising outstanding performance in safety related issues. Greentech Foundation has taken a lead role in promoting education, training, research and dissemination of knowledge, advancing the scientific, technical and practical aspects of safety in the work place, environmental protection and climate change.

The Greentech Safety Awards, held on 13 – 14 September 2014, are hosted annually by Greentech Foundation to recognise excellence in fire and safety management. The purpose of the awards is to promote improvements in workplace safety, encourage those responsible for workplace safety management and promote the recognition of workplace safety as an ethical responsibility to both employer and employees. All large, medium and small-scale industrial/service companies, academic institutions, R&D companies and consultancy companies are eligible to be considered for the award. The awards were presented in the presence of representatives from the government, industrial sectors and trade associations.
