Pakistan’s domestic cement dispatches and exports grew y/y in June

In June 2014, total Pakistani cement dispatches reached 3.217 million t, up 11.68% on the 2.88 million t sold in June 2013. During the month exports increased by 2.9% y/y, coming in at approximately 685 000 t. Domestic dispatches of cement were also higher than in the corresponding month last year, rising by 14.32% to 2.532 million t.

During the 2013/2014 fiscal year, total dispatches grew by 2.52% y/y to 34.273 million t. Within this, cement consumed on the national market increased by 4.32% y/y from 25.06 million t to 26.14 million t. However, exports were down on 2012/2013 fiscal year, falling by 2.87% to 8.13 million t.
