Graymont has finalised the acquisition of McDonald’s Lime and Taylor’s Lime in New Zealand from Holcim. Employees of both companies will remain, and Graymont President and CEO Stéphane Godin noted that they share with Graymont common values on safety, customer focus and a commitment to environmental performance and community engagement.
“Completion of this acquisition represents a milestone in terms of extending Graymont’s reach beyond North America to serve new customers in select global markets,” said Godin. “We have great confidence in the long-term growth prospects of the New Zealand economy and the region.”
John Reeves, previously General Manager of the New Zealand lime and limestone operations, has been appointed Graymont’s Vice President for New Zealand, ensuring a seamless transition.
Lime specialist Graymont has entered into an agreement with Holcim New Zealand and New Zealand Steel Limited to acquire their shares in McDonald’s Lime, and a formed a further agreement with Holcim to purchase its Taylor’s Lime assets.
Graymont, a leading North American lime producer, has reached an agreement with the Lheidli T’enneh regarding the proposed location of a new lime plant and quarry in British Columbia, Canada.
