Pioneering Mongolia’s Industrial Transformation
Moncement Building Materials LLC was established with a clear mission to build a better future for Mongolia through sustainable infrastructure.
As part of Monpolymet Group, one of the country’s most respected corporations, Moncement has redefined the cement industry by producing 100 percent locally made, world-class cement using cutting-edge European technology. Since 2015, its dry-process cement plant in Urgun soum, Dornogovi province, has become a model of efficiency, producing up to one million tons of cement annually. The plant’s design minimises resource waste and carbon emissions while ensuring the reliability and strength required for Mongolia’s ambitious infrastructure projects, including major national highways, bridges, and industrial zones.
Innovation that powers sustainability
At the heart of Moncement’s success lies its innovation-driven approach. The company introduced Mongolia’s first waste heat recovery power generation system, capable of producing 5MW of renewable energy by capturing excess heat from the production process. This breakthrough not only reduces dependence on the national grid but also prevents 80 000 - 100 000 tons of carbon emissions annually, equivalent to planting four million trees. In addition, Moncement employs smart monitoring, energy-efficient technologies, and a water recycling system that reuses 90% of processed water. The company’s fully automated control systems and digital cement sales application ensure consistent quality, real-time logistics tracking, and reliable delivery for clients across Mongolia. Certified under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001 standards, Moncement continues to raise the bar for operational excellence and safety.
Empowering communities and creating impact
Beyond its industrial achievements, Moncement is deeply invested in community development and social progress. Through its partnership with UNICEF Mongolia, the company supports educational programs, digital classrooms, and teacher training in rural areas such as Dornogovi province. Moncement also constructed a new water supply system for Urgun soum, solving a key problem by providing household water to local residents and herders. The company’s wellness programs, family housing initiatives, and flexible work policies reinforce its reputation as one of Mongolia’s most family-friendly workplaces. With 160 staff apartments and a strong culture of inclusivity, Moncement proves that industrial growth and human welfare can go hand in hand.
A future built on responsibility and vision
Looking ahead, Moncement aims to lead Mongolia’s transition toward greener construction. The company is investing in low-carbon cement technologies, circular economy practices, and continued digital transformation to enhance transparency and sustainability. Its partnerships with local and international institutions have created knowledge exchange platforms that strengthen the industry’s collective capability. By organizing Mongolia’s first Cement Expo and uniting competitors through the Mongolian Cement Association, Moncement is positioning itself not just as a producer, but as a catalyst for national development. Through innovation, integrity, and purpose, Moncement is building more than structures, it is building the foundation for a resilient and sustainable Mongolia.
