On 11 April, the new 3200 tpd cement production line at the Dangote Cement plant in Zambia was ignited and began operations. Sinoma (Nanjing) acted as general contractor for this project. Staff from Sinoma and Dangote Zambia attended the ceremony.
Sinoma reports that the whole team has made a concerted effort to overcome difficulties and reach the moment of ignition since the project first commenced. Now, the plant will enter a trial run period and performance tests will be carried out. The next goal is to reach guaranteed capacity.
Meanwhile, CBMI and South Africa’s PPC have signed an EPC contract for a new clinker production line in South Africa. This marks the first collaboration between CBMI and PPC. The project entails a 3000 tpd slurry kiln line.
Tong Laigou, Chairman of the Board of CBMI and Darryl Castle, CEO of PPC, signed the contract in the presence of senior staff from both companies. The project is located in Leichenburg, in the northwest of South Africa. The scope of the contract covers the additive stockpile to clinker transport into the clinker silo, including engineering, procurement, civil works, installation and commissioning. The project is expected to take 25 months, with PAC at 28 months.
