Dangote Cement has reportedly announced 19 new CSR projects in Nigeria, including water, education, electricity, roads, IT, etc. The management of the company are said to have told press that Dangote Cement is poised to make a meaningful contribution to the more than 16 communities bordering the Ibese cement plant. The projects have been discussed with local leaders to ensure that they are relevant to local needs, and Dangote Cement is encouraging the community to come forward with ideas and advice for more ways in which the company can help. Projects include domestic and industrial boreholes and the construction of classrooms. The company is also building road and drain networks.
Due to changed market conditions, Dangote Cement and FLSmidth have reached an agreement to end their operation and maintenance collaboration at the Ibese and Obajana plants in Nigeria.
