According to a report by Reuters, Nigerian conglomerate BUA Group is currently undergoing talks with China's Sinoma to build a steel plant in Nigeria and two cement plants in East Africa for US$1.9 billion.
Abdulsamad Rabiu, CEO of BUA Group, has announced that the two cement plants will have an annual capacity of 3 million t each, and will cost US$700 million. The steel plant will have a capacity of 1.2 million t and will cost US$1.2 billion.
Nigeria’s BUA Cement has signed a gas sales and purchase agreement with Nigerian Gas Company (NGC) for the supply of natural gas to its Edo cement plant.
