Nigeria’s BUA in talks with Sinoma over cement plant deal

According to a report by Reuters, Nigerian conglomerate BUA Group is currently undergoing talks with China's Sinoma to build a steel plant in Nigeria and two cement plants in East Africa for US$1.9 billion.

Abdulsamad Rabiu, CEO of BUA Group, has announced that the two cement plants will have an annual capacity of 3 million t each, and will cost US$700 million. The steel plant will have a capacity of 1.2 million t and will cost US$1.2 billion.

BUA Group signs contract with Sinoma

BUA Group is expanding capacity at its Obu cement plant and has signed a US$600 million contract with Sinoma.
