CTIEC signs contract to build 1.5 million tpa cement plant in Algeria

According to reports, China Triumph International Engineering Group Co. (CTIEC) has signed a contract to develop a 1.5 million tpa cement plant in Algeria. The contract was signed with STG Engineering and Real Estate Development Company and involves a complete production line from mining to finished cement dispatch. According to the website of China National Building Materials Company, CTIEC undertook engineering design, equipment supply, civil construction, equipment installation, staff training, production commissioning and compliance assessment service with a construction period of 28 months.

The plant will be located in Adrar, Algeria and will have a daily cement production capacity of 4200 t. Included in the annual output will be 200 000 t of oil well cement – the first time CTIEC technology has been chosen for oil well cement production in Algeria. The signing ceremony took place on 10 December. Once complete, the new plant will help to alleviate the cement shortage in Algeria.
