Analytics in the cement industry: part two

World Cement,

Industry 4.0 starts with a smart idea, followed by the architecture and implementation of a solution to generate additional benefit. With this in mind, Fritz & Macziol listens closely to customers to become one of the leading partners in the creation of smart systems.

Companies such as HeidelbergCement and Dyckerhoff are already starting to act and have started to prepare for the next industry standards, which will make the difference in the future when it comes to smart systems and intelligence in IT.

Fritz & Macziol industrial Applications creates solutions in the area of IT-logistics. A basic requirement for this is the connection and information exchange between the ERP Systems and the Industrial Equipment which has been developed by Fritz & Macziol over 15 years with the company’s customers and partners.

The benefits for Fritz & Macziol’s customers come into place when the overlapping logistical processes of an organisation are changed and with this costs are reduced and resources and availabilities can be improved in a measurable way.

The intense integration of IT and Industrial Equipment also places IT-security in a new context. The challenges are to have the huge amount of data everywhere available while also protecting this data with the newest and highest security standards. Independent from technology and systems, it is the solution that makes the difference.

“Using the right language between Operational and Information Technology is the key to success of an industrial 4.0 or IoT project. And not many can do that,” emphasised Gernot Hafner, Business Unit Manager Data Center / Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of the F&M Group.

VED ICT Pole, together with colleagues from Actemium and Omexom, cover a wide range of requirements that have to be fulfilled as a result of Industry 4.0.

Important partners and customers have already become aware of this, and have been approaching Fritz & Macziol with ideas and questions on Industry 4.0. For some time now, the companies have had intensive discussions with both major IT manufacturers as well as industrial companies regarding how they can jointly press ahead with this issue and thereby develop entirely new solutions - here, in particular, unique opportunities await the cement industry.
