The World Cement Association (WCA) has appointed Raman Mangabhai as Chairman of Events and Marketing. In this role, Mangabhai will plan and coordinate the WCA’s events and marketing activities globally, as well as liaising with regional representatives about local activities.
In April, Mangabhai will take up the role of President of the Institute of Concrete Technology, where he currently serves as Vice President. He is also a Fellow of The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.
According to a WCA press release, Mangabhai’s career in the cement sector has spanned both industry and academic roles. “His background as a materials technologies has enabled him to develop significant expertise in the use of cementitious and concrete products in a range of industrial applications,” said the association.
“He has also organised a number of successful international cement industry conferences over the last 30 years,” the WCA added.
Mangabhai will be based in London and work closely with the association’s Secretary General, Norman Greig. The WCA represents the cement industry and its stakeholders around the world.
