The final issue for 2011 is our Special Comminution Issue. This includes articles on turnkey projects, raw material crushing, wear resistance and grinding aids – amongst others. The Regional Report transports us to South East Asia, and a keynote article looks at the two archipelagos, the Philippines and Indonesia.

November Issue Editor's Comment

This November issue is one of our biggest this year. Packed full of technical articles and case studies, there is plenty to keep everyone interested. Our working in challenging environments feature is highlighted by an article from Thomas Box that will definitively keep you hooked until the end. The issue also includes a large feature on reducing emissions with case studies from all over the world, showing that environmental issues are a global industry concern.

October Issue Editor's Comment

This month sees a varied set of articles, all fitting under our lead feature: Process Control and Automation. It showcases novel XRF/XRD analysis systems, power project case studies, as well as monitoring systems across the whole plant. There is also a training feature with articles from VDZ and the PCA, looking at how to best use and develop the human talent in this industry. Our Regional Report will transport you to India and Pakistan, and Paul Maxwell-Cook’s Industry Insight delves into the optimism in Oman.

Our September issue includes a wide selection of articles as part of the Enhancing Performance theme, from Auditing to Gears and Drives to Lubrication. Planned to coincide with the Editor, Katherine Markham’s attendance at the XXVIII FICEM-APCAC Conference in São Paulo, Brazil, our Regional Report this month is focused on Central and Latin America. There are also a host of technical articles and case studies from this growing economic region. Our ‘15 Facts On...’ feature is still going strong, and this time, naturally, we’re educating you on Latin America.

July sees the return of World Cement’s annual ‘World Review’, a plant-by-plant, country-by-country round-up of international projects news from the past year. The issue will also include an Equipment Review of the latest in milling systems technology, and a feature on XRF/XRD analysis. This month, World Cement publishes its second Special Environmental Issue of the year. The issue focuses on filtration, dedusting and quarry rehabilitation, including articles from Holcim, Cemex and Intensiv-Filter. The issue also includes an update on innovative new cement and concrete technologies in the article ‘Innovations in Sustainable Development’, as well as Paul Maxwell-Cook’s Industry Insight on Oceania. Finally, this month’s regional report includes articles from Turkey and an update on industry developments in Egypt and the Mashreq countries, following recent political upheaval in the region.

This month’s Regional Report focuses on Central and Eastern Asia, including an economic overview from IHS Global Insight and an update from Taiheiyo Cement, which was prepared prior to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. Additional features on materials handling, storage and feeding are also included, together with one of our biannual looks at lime, gypsum and mortar.

This month, World Cement turns to China and Taiwan for its regional report. The China Cement Association discusses the influence of the country’s development strategy, and the Taiwan Cement Corporation provides an insight into Taiwanese investments in China.
