Cemex reinforces road safety initiatives across EMEA

The ‘Zero4Life Today for Drivers’ programme was launched in 2023 and is now being rolled out across the EMEA region, as part of Cemex’s wider injury and incident prevent strategy. The Zero4Life Today for Drivers programme aims to reach over 7000 drivers and haulers in the region by the end of 2024. Focussing on open conversations, Cemex will be reminding drivers about potential risks to themselves, other road users and members of the community.

Alongside the programme, Cemex’s Vulnerable Road Users Programme has produced a successful ongoing campaign with 4000 vulnerable road users reached in EMEA through community programmes across 2023. Local Cemex teams have visited schools, and various community events within the region, reaching out to pedestrians, cyclists and members of public with education and best practice on safer road use.

About World Day for Safety and Health at Work

The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is an annual international campaign to promote safe, healthy work practices. A national occupational safety and health culture is one in which the right to a safe and healthy working environment is respected at all levels, where governments, employers and workers actively participate in securing a safe and healthy working environment through a system of defined rights, responsibilities and duties, and where the highest priority is accorded to the principle of prevention.

World Day for Safety and Health at Work is held on 28 April and has been observed by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) since 2003.
