Siam Cement Q2 profit rises 15%

Reuters Africa are reporting that Thailand's largest industrial conglomerate Siam Cement Pcl reported a 15% rise in quarterly net profit on 27 July, boosted by higher earnings from its petrochemical business.

April-June net profit was 16 billion baht (US$457.14 million), exceeding the average forecast of 13.9 billion baht. It was the highest quarterly net profit since the fourth quarter of 2010.

Second-quarter sales dropped 4%from a year earlier to 109 billion baht.
